Surreal photography is pushing the boundaries of what is achievable with aphotograph. Weird and wonderful is where you have a photo which isn't real but it looks real so it's set out to make it look real.
I have chosen surreal because i like the detail is has to it. where it looks real but its not its just made to look like that. Surreal photography is pushing the boundaries of what is achievable with a photograph. Photo surrealism is an intellectual and artistic movement that started in the early 1920s in France and is famously known for its astonishing writings, surreal images and artworks.
Erik Johnson.
Erika Johnson's work is quite dark and unusual. The images are of real things and places but have been altered to look surreal. She uses a lot of natural scenes in her work and I really like how she changes them to look dark and stormy. She manipulates the photographs so that they don't look and natural.
This is my least favourite photo because there's not really any detail there's just a house in the middle of no where. Another reason why i don't like this photo is because the sky looks really dull and it makes the photo look even worse.
This is my favourite photo because there is detail to the house and the sky is made to make it look like theres a storm. Its also made to make it look real but its not.
Tommy Ingberg
Tommys work is mainly in black and white he merges objects together and alters the images so they do not look normal. Tommy Inberg is a multi-award winning photographer and visual artist, born 1980 in Sweden. He works with photography and digital image editing, creating minimalistic and self-reflecting surreal photo montages dealing with human nature, feelings and thoughts. The last photograph below is my favourite because it is very imaginative and i like the way there is a head and a tree at the same time.
CLONING - First shoot
For this shoot i am going to take photos of Declan and Shena and edit them so it makes it look like there are more than 2 people. I am going to do this on a corridor in school and using the stairs.
I thought this shoot went well as it was the first time i had used the editing tools. If i was to redo this shoot i would add shadows onto the extra people to make it look more realistic. What camera settings did you use? What i found easy about this shoot was all's we needed to do was take pictures of where we wanted to so we could edit them. What i found difficult about this shoot was when we needed to edit them and put the person in different places. What i did to edit this was i had to go onto the picture what i wanted and then i had to go on to the editing sight and i had to outline the person who i wanted to make in to a couple and then press something and it made it into 2.
Perspective - second shoot
PLAN THIS SHOOT For this shoot i want to create a perspective shoot where i put the world in tegans hand to make it look like shes holding the earth.Tegan is sitting on top of a wall and is putting her hands up to make it look like shes holding the earth.
FINAL EDIT
This edit hasnt turned out as well as i wanted because the images are a little bit blurry so if i was to do the shoot again i would make sure the camera was perfectly still. To edit this picture i got a picture of me and then i went on google and got a picture of a earth and then i went back to the picture and edited it to make it look like i was holding the earth. I found this hard to do because my hands were hard to get around the earth perfectly.
Shoot 3: For my third shoot i want to do shrinking. This is where im going to put Jay sitting down and take a picture of my water bottle with water in it then edit it to make it look like hes in there with the water.
